Deltasand

The modelling sand that never dries out until you want it to! Deltasand is a fine grade sand combined with a special binding agent. Simply decide upon the size of the model you want to create, compress the sand into a block to these rough dimensions. You are then ready to start carving into your block to make your master piece. Your model won’t start to crumble like they would do on the beach because this sand will not dry out therefore it can be used over and over again. To make it semi-permanent you could coat the model with the Delta Fix. This will give the model a protective outer layer, making it easy to transport if needed, but if you no longer require it, simply peel off the outer layer and the inner sand can be reused years later. If you are happy for your model to become a permanent fixture place it in a domestic oven for 1 hour at 125°C, allowing it to cool in the oven too. You will be left with a synthetic-like stone carving which can be coloured with water based paint. Why not try your hand at carving your model from a baked block and develop your skills as a stone mason!
