    Colour Library Constable

    John Constable known as the English romantic painter and renowned for his landscape paintings and in particular “Dedham Vale” and “The Hay Wain” depicting what is now “Constable Country". Although his paintings are now among the most popular and valuable in British art, he was never financially successful and did not become a member of the establishment until he was elected to the Royal Academy at the age of 52. He sold more paintings in France than in his native England. This is part of series which acts as an introduction to the artist and movements in art history. Each title contains 48 full-page colour plates, accompanied by extensive notes, and numerous comparative illustrations in colour or black and white, a concise introduction, select bibliography and detailed source information for the images.
